Our Story
Paradis means "paradise" in French. Founded in 2021 in Seongsu-dong, Seoul, by an owner-chef with culinary experiences in both Korea and France, as well as experiences in Michelin two-starred and one-starred restaurants, Paradis was created to be an urban oasis. The restaurant initially operated as a dining bar, offering fusion cuisine inspired by global flavors, paired with wine and sake. To ensure natural flavors without chemical additives, we developed recipes based on fermented ingredients, which naturally enhance umami and aroma. We also adhered to the Farm-to-Table principle, using fresh ingredients and herbs grown on our own over 3630㎡ farm in Gangwon Province. One day, while grocery shopping, we pondered a question: Why is it so difficult to find healthy and delicious ready-to-eat food, despite the constant evolution of the dining industry? This led us to realize that many food companies, including major corporations, prioritize cost-cutting by using low-quality imported ingredients and excessive chemical additives to simplify cooking processes.Determined to create high-quality, nutritious food ourselves, we temporarily closed restaurant operations and dedicated a year to research and development. As a result, we successfully launched our first shelf-stable product: "Perilla Oil Tare Soba." This is a fusion dish, combining the rich flavors of perilla oil buckwheat noodles—a beloved local food from the owner-chef’s hometown, Chuncheon—with the deep umami of Japan’s tare sauce. A long-time best-seller at our restaurant, the product is made with over 50% fresh, locally sourced ingredients such as Korean pear, garlic, and onion, making it a healthy and delicious option for all ages. The tare sauce is made by blending Korean and Japanese soy sauces with French red wine to enhance its natural umami and depth of flavor. Our soba noodles are crafted using a proprietary blend of whole buckwheat for added nuttiness, while the perilla oil is cold-pressed at low temperatures to preserve its nutrients. Additionally, we use unseasoned seaweed flakes, free from chemical additives.Today, Paradis is actively collaborating with various government agencies and institutions, including the Ministry of SMEs and Startups, the Small Enterprise and Market Service, the Korea Water Resources Corporation, and the Seoul Metropolitan Government, to address the societal challenge of regional depopulation and revitalize local economies. Through these partnerships, we strive to discover exceptional regional ingredients and develop sustainable food products, ensuring both economic and environmental viability.Thank you.Our Story
